Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult patients equal or greater than 18 years of age with cirrhosis admitted to Kasturba hospital, manipal under medicine units with suspected infection either clinically or on laboratory I investigations will be recruited in our study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with contaminated blood culture and patients with malignancy and those on cancer chemotherapy

The outcome will be assessed in terms of course in the hospital , duration of hospital stay, condition at time of discharge in relation to risk factors for blood stream infections in hospitalised patients with cirrhosisTimepoint: 14/6/2023 to 31/01/2025
