Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing cardiac surgery under general anaesthesia requiring postoperative mechanical ventilation. b. Patients aged between 18-65 years. c. Patients with ASA physical status 1/2/3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. Scheduled for emergency surgery b. Allergy to ascorbic acid, systemic opioids c. History of Gout d. High oxalate urine e. Uric acid kidney stone f. Glucose-6-Phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency g. Sickle cell anemia h. Thalassemia i. Pre-operative chest radiograph showing active lung disease j. Substance use disorder k. Coagulopathy l. Chronic opioid use m. Analgesic use
