Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients more than 18-65 years of age with American Society of Anesthesiologistsâ?? (ASA) physical status 1 or 2 who will be schedule for elective surgery under spinal anaesthesia in the supine position

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) BMI more than 30 kg/m2, 2) taking angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, 3) pregnant women, 4) emergency cases, 5) absolute or relative contraindications to spinal anaesthesia, 6) patients scheduled for unilateral spinal anaesthesia 7) failure to perform spinal anaesthesia. 8) patients with a baseline arterial SBP less than 90mmHg or mean arterial blood pressure (MBP) less than 70mmHg.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the predictive values of ultrasonographic inferior vena cava collapsibility index, caval aorta index & perfusion index as predictors for post spinal anaesthesia hypotension.Timepoint: BASE LINE, EVERY 2 MIN TILL 30 MINUTES

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the hemodynamic parameters blood pressure mean arterial pressure heart rateTimepoint: post spinal anaesthesia patient is observed for a period of 30 min & non invasive blood pressure mean arterial blood presure and heart rate are taken every 2 min from giving spinal anaesthesia to 30 min post spinal anaesthesia.
