Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All preterm neonates greater than 28 weeks and less than 37 weeks born at KLEs Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi during the study period
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1 Infants with congenital anomalies, cyanotic congenital heart disease 2 Neonates with inborn error of metabolism by clinical signs or lab investigations 3 Neonates with clinically recognizable genetic syndromes 4 Neonates with duration of hospital stay less than 4 days 5 Refusal of consent

| To assess the risk factors associated with occurrence of Gram-negative bacilli in the gastric aspirate & stool samples of preterm neonates.Timepoint: first gastric aspirate sample within 4 hours of life first stool sample when the baby passes meconium second gastric aspirate & stool sample between day 7 to day 10 of life study will be conducted over a span of 1 year;To find the similarity in antibiotic sensitivity pattern between isolates from the gut & blood samples in preterm neonates with culture positive sepsis & substantiate with molecular analysis.Timepoint: during the course of admission study will be conducted over a span of 1 year | — |
