Intervention1: Different levels of Positive end expiration pressure (PEEP): PEEP 5,8 and 10 applied for 20 minutes intervals each. Control Intervention1: No PEEP: PEEP of zero

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18-65 years 2. ASA Physical status I and II. 3.Duration of Surgery greater than 60 minutes .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with pre-existing lung disease , cardiovascular disease. 2.Patients with abnormal preoperative chest radiographs. 3.Patients with previous history of thoracic surgery. 4.Surgeries requiring Trendelenburg position. 5.Morbid obesity (BMI >30kg/m2). 6.Pregnancy.
