Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Broncho alveolar lavage specimens from patients admitted to our hospital with a diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Repeat specimens from patients of whom a previous specimen was included 2 Patients who are terminally ill 3 Patients with no consent
