Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Untreated chronic periodontitis with a probing depth >= 5mm. Clinical attachment loss >= 3mm Radiographic evidence of alveolar bone loss excluding the third molars.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects on any medication taken within the last 6 months which may alter the gingival status. Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment within a period of one year. Smokers Pregnant and lactating women
