Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18 years and above, 2. American society of Anaesthesiologists physical status grade (ASA 1-2 ), 3.Undergoing general anaesthesia with tracheal intubation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with history of pre operative sore throat, oral and nasal surgery, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pregnancy, mallampatti grade >2, known allergy to study drug, those who required more than one attempt of intubation

To compare post operative sore throat pain between two groups using ketamine gargle wash & sterile gargle wash both intubated with alkalinized lignocaineTimepoint: At 0,2,4,6 & 24 hours after extubation according to four point scale.
