Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Presence of minimum 24 functional teeth 2. Patients with moderate to severe form of chronic generalized gingivitis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Advanced periodontal diseases and caries. 2. Any prescribed antibiotic therapy coverage for the last 6 months 3. Systemic diseases

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The Primary outcome will be the reduction in plaque index, gingival index, bleeding on probing which will reflect the antimicrobial effect of the experimental dentifrices.Timepoint: 6,12,24 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To detect the levels of AOPP, TAC & Myeloperoxidase in saliva at baseline and at 24 weeks, following use of experimental dentifrices.Timepoint: 24 weeks
