Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients suffering from essential hypertension of stage I & II as per JNC-VII criteria, not taking any antihypertensive treatment. (Stage I: SBP 140-159 mm Hg, DBP 90-99 mm Hg) (Stage II: SBP160-179 mmHg, DBP 100-109 mmHg) 2. Patients giving written informed consent. 3. Cases with no evidence of secondary causes from clinical history, examination and routine investigations.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Cases having risk of hypertensive emergencies (SBP equal or more than 180 mm Hg & DBP equal or more than 120 mm Hg) 2. Patient taking any antihypertensive medicine 3. Immunocompromised patients 4. Diagnosed cases of HTN with developmental defects or congenital abnormalities. 4. Pregnant patients or on breast feeding and/ or with likelihood of pregnancy. 5. Patients with history of drug and/or alcohol abuse. 6. Patients not giving consent and maintaining follow up.
