Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 65 years or above. 2. ASA PS grade I, II, III. 3. Patients undergoing elective major onco-surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal 2. Patient with ASA more than 3 3. Patients with psychiatric disorders. 4. Patients unable to comprehend the information. 5. Preoperative Infection/Sepsis 6. Emergency surgeries (for which baseline frailty cannot be obtained). 7. With recent hemorrhage resulting in acute blood loss anemia (to distinguish subjects with anemia of chronic disease from acute blood loss anemia)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.Composite postoperative adverse events including surgical complications and mortality within 30 days. Postoperative complications will be defined using POMS & severity will be classified as moderate (grade II) or severe (grade III to grade V) events according to the Clavien-Dindo classification. The data will be collected from the patientsâ?? medical records on 3rd and 5th postoperative day. Mortality within 30 days will also be recorded.Timepoint: 1. Composite postoperative outcomes on 3rd and 5th postoperative day and mortality within 30 days.

MeasureTime frame
2. Length of ICU stay 3. Length of hospital stay. Timepoint: It will be assessed at 4th week from the hospital records..
