Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To Determine the incidence of postoperative delirium in adult patients of both genders undergoing cardiac surgery under general anesthesia with CPB at a cardiac surgical centreTimepoint: To Determine the incidence of postoperative delirium at 12hours, 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours & postop day 3 and postop day 4. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To assess the association of the following eight perioperative risk factors with the development of postoperative delirium. a) EuroSCORE II (6) b) Variations in cerebral oxygen saturation from baseline during the CPB period c) Duration of CPB d) Duration of the aortic cross-clamp e) Minimum temperature while on CPB f) Variations in hematocrit (resulting from hemodilution) g) Variations in oxygen delivery during CPB h) Changes in lactate production during CPB Timepoint: All secondary outcomes measured during hospital stay in the perioperative period Euroscore II will be assessed preoperatively & association with Postoperative Delirium assessed. Other parameters mentioned will be noted during the perioperative period & the association with Delirium determined | — |
