Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients undergoing elective infraumbilical surgeries under spinal anaesthesia who fit into American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia Patient refusal Patient allergic to opioids and local anaesthetic agents Pregnant and lactating women

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effect on onset & duration of sensory block & onset & duration of motor blockTimepoint: The block will be assessed at 1 minute interval for the first 10 minutes,every 5 minutes in the first hour, every 10 minutes till the regression of block

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effect on hemodynamic changes in both the groupsTimepoint: Hemodynamic parameters measured every 2 minute time intervals for the first 10 minutes followed by 5 minute intervals for the next 20 minutes & at 10 minute intervals till the end of the surgery
