Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Systemically healthy patients aged 22-60 years. Patients who are current smokers and non-smokers with chronic periodontitis. Patients having probing pocket depth >= 5mm and loss of attachment >= 3mm.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Systemically compromised patients e.g., Diabetes mellitus, Chronic renal disease, hepatitis, HIV. Patients who underwent periodontal therapy during past 6 months. Patients on antibiotic therapy in last 6 months.
