Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients with age 18- 65 Years undergoing elective upper limb surgeries. ASA grade I-II. Weight equal to or more than 50 kg

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pre existing obturator nerve injury or adductor muscle weakness Local anesthetic allergy. Coagulopathy. Pregnancy and lactating mothers Infection or scar at the needle insertion site. Neuromuscular disorder. Patchy or inadequate anesthesia requiring conversion to general anesthesia or when additional opioid or sedation was administered in intra operative period.

To compare the duration of analgesia in post operative period with dexmedetomidine in doses 30 microgram and 50 microgram when used as adjuvant with 0.5% ropivacaine in supraclavicular brachial plexus blockTimepoint: To compare the duration of analgesia in post operative period using VAS score at durations immediate post operative,at 15 minute,30 minutes, 45 minutes,60 minutes,3 hours,6 hours,12 hours and 24 hours after the surgery.
