Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (i)Hemodynamically stable patients on mechanical ventilator undergoing unassisted breathing trials or on Continuos Positive Airway Pressure,or pressure supported ventilation or on synchronized madatory ventilation mode. (ii)Patients referred for Physiotherapy by Intensive care specialist.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (i)Patients having cardiac and respiratory instability(RR more than 40 breaths per min, Systolic BP less than 80 mm Hg or more than 200 mm Hg,Diastolic BP less than 50 mm Hg or more than 100 mm Hg, PaO2 less than 65 mm Hg,FiO2 more than 0.5) (ii)Patients on higher ventilatory support (mandatory support) such as pressure-regulated volume control, and pressure or volume assist control or Continuous Mandatory ventilation modes (iii)Patients who sedated or on drugs causing respiratory depression (iv)Patients admitted to the ICU after cardiac surgery,trauma or flail chest (v)Fever (more than 38.5 degree C), Sepsis, Malignancy (vi)Who underwent CPCR during ICU stay (vii)Having psychiatric disorders, cognitive dysfunction or overtly agitated (RASS score greater than +2 or less than -2) (viii)Refuse to consent for participation
