Intervention1: Cognitive retraining: The sample size of the study will be 90. Here we shall follow 1: 2 recruitment ratio- 30 patients in CR arm and 60 patients in Control arm with age 55 years. The

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients satisfying the DSM-IV-TR along with Peterson criteria for MCI or NIAA criteria for early AD as assessed by the clinician 2) Patients with satisfying performance in the psychological tests (MMSE, RAVLT and other tests), administered and evaluated by psychologist. 3) Educated at least up to grade 10th grade 4) Age group of 55-85 years 5) Malayalam speaking

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with metallic implants/pacemakers, neurosurgical history, neuropsychiatric symptoms, claustrophobia, substance abuse, medical conditions that contraindicate performance of MRI Clinical dementia rating scale > 2.5
