Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients undergoing oral and maxillofacial surgeries requiring awake nasotracheal intubation with flexible bronchoscope. 2.Patients consenting to participate. 3.Patients belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade I and II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with the history of obstructive sleep apnea, nasal trauma, nasal surgery, bleeding diathesis, infection of upper airway 2.Patients who are taking anti-coagulant therapy. 3.Patients who are on anti-hypertensives. 4.Patients in whom postoperative ventilation will be anticipated

1.Mean of Nasal injury score in postoperative period. 2.Mean of laryngeal injury score in postoperative period. 3.Patient acceptance of ETT by using grimace score. 4.Mean time for intubation & for exchange of tube will be noted 5.Mean of HR, SBP, DBP, MAP & SpO2. 6.Proportion of cases with complications. Timepoint: During tube insertion & during extubation

1 Mean of Nasal injury score in postoperative period. 2. Mean of laryngeal injury score in postoperative period. 3. Patient acceptance of ETT by using grimace score. 4. Mean time for intubation & for exchange of tube will be noted 5. Mean of HR, SBP, DBP, MAP & SpO2. 6. Proportion of cases with complications. Timepoint: Intubation time in group A : 50 sec to 200 sec Intubation time in group B : 50 secs to 200 sec Exchange time in Group B : 30 50 ses to 200 secs
