Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Respiratory rate >30/minute on room air AND spO2 AND Active use of accessory muscles of respiration

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are not consenting to the study Patients requiring IPPV immediately or within 1 hour of NIV therapy Patients with underlying ILD Patients with chest wall deformities Patients presenting with trauma Patients with history of diaphragm/thoracic surgery Pregnant women Patients using NIV/BIPAP at home
