Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Parental consent 2.Patients of ASA Grade 1 and 2 3.Patients scheduled for surgery less than two hours 4.Patients in whom LMA is indicated

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.History of congenital heart disease, neurological disorder,asthma 2.Patients with hiatal hernia,major abdominal or thoracic surgery 3.Patients with full stomach 4.Difficult airway and facial or airway anomaly 5.More than 3 attempts of LMA insertion

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome will be occurrence of any one of respiratory adverse events like coughing,LMA biting,brochospasm, desaturation, breath holding, airway obstruction .Timepoint: During extubation and within 30 minutes of extubation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Number of attempts to LMA insertion, postoperative nausea and vomiting, haemodynamic parameters and emergence agitation.Timepoint: Perioperative period
