Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American society of anaesthesiologist physical status classification sysytem grade 1 and 2 undergoing elective excision of intracranial meningioma with radiographic finding of diamteter more than 5cm in atleast two dimensions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Deranged liver/renal function test, pre operative anaemia, history of allergy to tranexamic acid, pregnancy and history of significant thromboembolic episodes.

To assess and compare the difference in blood loss in intracranial meningioma excisionTimepoint: To assess and compare the difference in blood loss in intracranial meningioma excision during the surgery and within next 24 hours after surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
need of blood transfusion and change in fibrinogen levels.Timepoint: total blood products transfused intra operatively and post operatively assessment of serum fibrinogen levels pre operatively and two hours after loading dose.
