Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient willing to give informed consent. 2. Patients age between 18 and 60 years of either gender. 3. American society of anesthesiologists physical status (ASA) grade 1 and grade 2 patients. 4. Patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient allergy to dexmedetomidine, Lignocaine and other alpha-2 agonists. 2. Patients on pain perception modifying drugs and beta blockers. 3. Patient with impaired mental status, Alcohol or drug abuse. 4. Pregnant patients and patients with autonomic neuropathies.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Quality of extubation will be evaluated based on 5-point rating scale immediately after extubation. The soar throat , throat irritation and breathing pattern will be better in study group in 30minTimepoint: Baseline- less cough 4weeks- No Throat pain 8weeks- No Throat Irritation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Better patient satisfaction and HemodynamicsTimepoint: Base line- No Bronchospasm 4weeks- No breathing difficulty 8 weeks- No cough
