Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All AECOPD requiring hospitalization Age >40 years Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Personal or family history of asthma,atopy,or allergic disease use of systemic steroids within past 30 days Decompensated CHF Known malignancy Immunosuppressed state Respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation Hemodynamically unstable patients Pregnancy or lactation Previous enrolment in this study or any other study
