Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Criteria for patients with schizophrenia who use tobacco in dependence pattern 1. Patients meeting the diagnostic criteria for Schizophrenia according to the International Classification of Disease 10 DCR; diagnosed for at least 2 years 2. Patients meeting criteria for tobacco dependence syndrome 3. Stable antipsychotic dose for last 3 months 4. Patients willing to give informed consent in either English, Hindi or Kannada 5. Patients between the ages of 18-60 years Criteria for patients with schizophrenia who donâ??t use tobacco 1. Patients meeting the diagnostic criteria for Schizophrenia according to the International Classification of Disease 10 DCR; diagnosed for at least 2 years 2. Patients who have never used tobacco in dependence pattern and currently not using tobacco in any form 3. Stable antipsychotic dose for last 3 months 4. Patients willing to give informed consent in either English, Hindi or Kannada 5. Patients between the ages 18-60 years
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with comorbid neurological disorders (for example. Stroke, head injury, Parkinsonâ??s disease, or neurodegenerative disorders) 2. Patients with uncontrolled medical comorbidities 3. Other substance use in dependence pattern
