Health Condition 1: N040- Nephrotic syndrome with minor glomerular abnormality

Interventions

Intervention1: Group A: Children randomly allocated to group A will receive Metolazone @ 0.3 mg/kg/day orally in 1-2 divided doses along with Furosemide @ 2 mg/kg/day IV in two divided doses Control I

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome and presenting with moderate to severe edema (weight gain more than 8â??15%) admitted to IPD will be included in this study or clinical edema Grade 3+ or more

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome 2. AKI 3. Hyponatremia, 4. Hypokalemia 5. Hypomagnesemia 6. Hypovolemia 7. Serum Albumin 8. Those who received diuretics before recruitment to the trial 9. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <=60 mL/min/1.73 m2

1. Difference in Body weight measured as %weight loss 2. Change in urea and Creatinine levels 3. Blood Na, K, Ca, Mg levels 4. Length of hospital stay in daysTimepoint: Measured every 12 hours till 48 hours after recruitment with objective number 4 being recorded at discharge
