Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. excessive bleeding during menstruation (change of more than 3 completely soiled pads per day) 2. prolonged menstrual bleeding ( more than 7 days but less than 15 days) 3. interval less than 45 days

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Hb less than 8gm % 2. patients with detectable pelvic pathology in sonograms like polyp, adenomyosis, fibroid and endometrial pathology 3. any other causes likely to influence the menstrual cycle like pregnancy , abortion 4. women using IUCD/OCP 5. patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, hypertension, thyroid dysfunction 6.patients with known case of liver dysfunction, congestive cardiac failure, coagulation disorders, TB, veneral diseases and malignant conditions 7. patients undergoing hormone replacement therapy 8. post menopausal women
