Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Age more than 18 years and of all genders with laboratory confirmed new cases of early syphilis with a plasma rapid plasma regain (RPR) >_ 1:8 and serum TPHA positivity. 2)HIV infected individuals with laboratory confirmed new cases of early syphilis with a plasma rapid plasma regain (RPR) >_ 1:8 and serum TPHA positivity. 3)Able to travel to clinic once a day or be available for phone calls or receive a text message.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnant females 2) Recent (within the past 7days) or concomitant antimicrobial therapy with activity against syphilis, namely azithromycin, doxycycline, ceftriaxone or beta lactam antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin) 3)elevated RPR test without any clinical corelation. (Biologic false positives) 4) A medical condition or other factors that might affect their ability to follow the protocol.
