Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Wives of persons with Alcohol dependence syndrome, taking treatment from the Outpatient Department of Department of Addiction Medicine, LGBRIMH, Tezpur, Assam. Married for at least 2 years. Age range between 18 to 50 years. Women who are able to understand English and Assamese and giving consent for the interview.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: For both the groups: Women who report of having any physical disabilities or psychiatric illness. For comparative group: Women who report of husbands having physical disabilities and psychiatric illness.

MeasureTime frame
The study will help to understand the impact of alcohol dependence syndrome on family environment and how it contributes to the development of codependency among the wives of persons with alcohol dependence syndrome. The study will help us know if there is any association between family environment and codepedency.Timepoint: 12 months
