| Initial analyses indicate that keratoconus may be associated with the differential expression of several proteins. Although many differences have been identified that distinguish the KC cornea from the normal cornea, it has not been possible to trace these changes back to primary causes or identify the triggers that precipitate the cascade of events leading to the clinical picture of KC. Further testing is needed to determine any causal relationship or correlation with the etiology of this condition. Our study will be instrumental in decoding the role of tear proteomics in KC amongst group patients. The identified proteins will be likely to have a significant role in the disease and make it possible to understand the events occurring in tears that intervene in the pathophysiology of KC.Timepoint: 3-Years | — |
