Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients of age 18-65 years, BMI 18.5-30,ASA 1 or 2, posted for middle ear surgeries will be included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with baseline heart rate less than 60 beats per minute. Patients with impaired mental status. Patients hard of hearing and does not understand Hindi or English Language. Patients with known allergy to local anesthetics or any of the study drugs. Patients with the history of chronic use of analgesics, sedatives, alcohol or drug abuse. Patients will also be excluded if operations are redo, the expected surgery time is more than 2hrs, or development of intra operative severe pain that mandates the conversion to general anesthesia. (in case of conscious sedation).
