Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: People with dogs: 1) Those who are currently living with at least 1 dog for a minimum of 3 years 2) Residing in tier-1 metropolitan cities in India; Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune People without dogs: 1) Individuals who have never raised a dog at home 2) Residing in tier-1 metropolitan cities in India; Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: People with dogs: 1) People with any other type of animals as pets (cats, fish, birds) 2) People who have dogs but are not currently raising them/are physically separated from them 3) Those who have had dogs in the past and currently donâ??t 4) Those who have had a dog for less than 3 years 5) Clinical population (those with diagnosed mental health illnesses) are excluded in order to restrict the role of existing mental conditions on the results of the study; individuals who will be screened for high psychological distress People without dogs: 1) People with any other type of animals as pets (cats, fish, birds) 2) People who have dogs but are not currently raising them/are physically separated from them 3) Those who have had dogs in the past and currently donâ??t 4) Clinical population (those with diagnosed mental health illnesses) are excluded in order to restrict the role of existing mental conditions on the results of the study; individuals who will be screened for high psychological distress
