Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients belonging to ASA grade I, II, III 2.Patients of either sex, above the age of 65 years 3.Patients with hip fractures not older than 2 weeks with persistent pain ( NRS >5) , posted for surgery under subarachnoid block 4.BMI between 18.5-30 Kg/m2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patient refusal 2.Patients with allergy or contraindication to local anaesthetics 3.Patients on opioid therapy for chronic pain taken 8 hours before surgery 4.Patients with pre-existing spinal deformity- scoliosis , ankylosing spondylitis , history of spine surgery 5.Patients with severe psychiatric illness, cognitive impairment with difficulties in pain evaluation 6.Any contraindication to spinal anaesthesia or peripheral nerve blocks 7.Patients with End stage renal disease 8.Patient with polytrauma 9.Previous history of femoral bypass surgery
