Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients of age group 6 months to 5 years, admitted with acute lower respiratory tract infections fulfilling any three of the following eligibility criteria will be enrolled : 1.fever and/or cough, 2.tachypnea for age :respiratory rate: 6months to 12 months >50/min, 13 months to 5 years >40/min., 3.accessory muscle use 4.wheeze and/or crepitation on auscultation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: All patients with 1.Severe acute malnutrition 2.Congenital heart disease 3.Chronic systemic illness 4.Gastrointestinal malformations 5.Patients on Micronutrient supplementation containing selenium
