Intervention1: KMC GROUP: Skin to skin contact lasting for 2 hours every 8 hours in the study group, along with phototherapy Control Intervention1: CONTROL GROUP: PHOTOTHERAPY - WITHOUT SKIN TO SKIN

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Babies requiring phototherapy Mother available Gestation more than or equal to 34 weeks

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Evidence of hemolysis TSB in the exchange zone TSB > 18 mg/dl

1. Rate of successful breastfeeding defined as breastfeeding more than or equal to 75% of feeds at the time of discharge 2. Weight trends during therapy 3. Duration of hospital stay 4. Duration of phototherapy 5. Requirement of exchange transfusion / Hypothermia / hyperthermia during skin to skin contact 6. Incidence of rebound jaundice. Timepoint: Till discharge
