Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Fasting plasma glucose: ââ?°Â¥ 126 mg/dL ââ?¬â?? 200 mg/dL 2.2-h plasma glucose: >200 mg/dL ââ?¬â?? 350 mg/dL 3.Symptoms of diabetes plus random blood glucose ââ?°Â¥ 200 mg/dl. 4.HbA1C: 6.5% - 10% 5.Patients in between 40 and 60 years of either sex.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients of type-1 diabetes mellitus. 2.Cases with severe diabetic complications such as cardiac disease, nephropathy, and foot ulcer. 3.Patients with chronic diseases such as Tuberculosis, Bronchial asthma, Chronic renal failure, HIV, and Hepatitis. 4.Patient below 40 years and above 60 years. 5.Patients taking medication that may cause rapid glucose rise e.g. steroids, antipsychotics. 6.Patients with acute pancreatic damage, including pancreatic surgery. 7.Pregnancy.

MeasureTime frame
Novel pharmaceutical product containing Shialajatu and Darvi would be formulated. Adjunct effect of Darvi on Anti hyperglycaemic activity of Shilajatu and efficacy of formulated compound in the management of Type 2 DM would be determined based on HbA1c level. Timepoint: Baseline, 15th, 30th, 45th, 60th, 75th and 90 days

MeasureTime frame
Role of Bhavana in potentiation of therapeutic property would be ascertained. Effect of Shilajatu Darvi Yoga on the plasma expression of protein apoA- IV & TXNIP in diabetic patients would be determined. Changes in quality of life of patients of Type 2 DM. Timepoint: Baseline, 90 days
