Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Time to attain adequate preoxygenation defined as an end-tidal oxygen concentration(EtO2) of 10% below the inspired oxygen concentration.Timepoint: during pre- oxygenation, before induction of general anaesthesia. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Incidence of atelectasis in the immediate post-operative period using lung ultrasound. Percentage of subjects who required pre-oxygenation for more than 3 minutes to attain the target EtO2 Haemodynamic changes during pre- oxygenation Desaturation during intubation Timepoint: end of surgery | — |
