Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.ASA I - III patients 2.Age 18 -80 years 3.Patients posted for elective surgery 4.Patients of either sex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.patients who are not willing to participate in the study 2. ambulatory surgeries 3.patients with altered mental status 4.pregnant patients 5.pediatric patients

MeasureTime frame
Prediabetes is defined as HbA1c values between 5.7 to 6.4.Patients coming for pre anaesthetic check up are advised to undergo HbA1c test and followed up for the results. Prevalence of prediabetes will be estimated with resultsTimepoint: Time point will be at 7 days after initial visit to pre anaesthetic check up
