Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All adult males greater than 18 years of age with clinically diagnosed LS induced urethral strictures on retrograde urethrography willing to participate in study after written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Age less than 18 years 2.Patients not willing or unable to perform self-calibration 3.Patients with Traumatic urethral strictures or strictures secondary to any other etiology other than LS •Patients with active UTI •Uncontrolled diabetes •Patients with burnt out LS with completely narrowed lumen where dilatation is not possible
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the recurrence rate between patients performing self-calibration alone vs self-calibration with intra urethral steroid instillation following dilatation of Lichen sclerosis induced male urethral strictures at baseline,1 months 3 months & 6 monthsTimepoint: To compare the recurrence rate between patients performing self-calibration alone vs self-calibration with intra urethral steroid instillation following dilatation of Lichen sclerosis induced male urethral strictures at baseline,1 months 3 months & 6 months | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. To compare the symptom improvement and patient satisfaction between patients performing self-calibration alone vs self-calibration with intra urethral steroid instillation following dilatation of Lichen sclerosis induced male urethral strictures. 2. To compare the improvement in uroflowmetry parameters between patients performing self-calibration alone vs self-calibration with intra urethral steroid instillation following dilatation of Lichen sclerosis induced male urethral strictures. 3. To compare complications between patients performing self-calibration alone vs self-calibration with intra urethral steroid instillation following dilatation of Lichen sclerosis induced male urethral strictures. 4. To find predictive factors for recurrence in patients undergoing dilatation for LS induced urethral strictures Timepoint: 1 month 3 month 6 month | — |
