Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: New and retreated drug sensitive pulmonary TB patients, with confirmed diagnosis through GeneXpert/TRUNAAT.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Tuberculosis patients (new or retreated) who have initiated treatment for TB more than one month prior to sampling. 2) All Extrapulmonary TB patients 3) Pediatric TB patients 4) Drug-resistant TB patients

| 1. Measurement of patient-level outcomes of the PPE strategy in terms of enhanced access, correct diagnosis, shorter care pathways, patient retention and adherence, relief from excessive costs. 2. Determination of whether the PPE strategy: a. Reduced delay to correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment and follow up b. Improved medication adherence and treatment outcomes c. Reduced out of pocket patient costs and incidence of catastrophic expenditure d. Improved patient satisfaction 3. Evaluation of the strength of the association between different components of the PPE strategy and successful patient outcomes. 4. Collection of evidence on key parameters among private TB patients: diagnostic accuracy and treatment duration to ensure robustness and utility of Indian TB epidemiological models 5. Estimation of out-of-pocket expenses for the TB patients treated in the private sector during pre-diagnosis, pre-treatment and treatment period. Timepoint: 16 Months | — |
