Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All consecutive patients admitted to the PICU will be enrolled in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients whose parent/ guardian refuses to give informed consent.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.Spectrum (i.e. etiology and system involved) of patients. 2.Indication/s for PICU admission. 3.Complications (shock, sepsis, ventilator associated pneumonia, nosocomial bloodstream infection, acute renal injury and thrombocytopenia). 4.Outcome (survival / death) of patients. Timepoint: At discharge from the Pediatric intensive care unit or at death of the patient.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Length of PICU stay and the total hospital stay. 2. Number of patients requiring ventilatory support (Non-Invasive/ Invasive/ Both). Timepoint: At discharge from the Pediatric intensive care unit or at death of the patient.
