Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age matched men and women (35-55 years) Individuals with periodontitis Patients who have not received periodontal therapy, within preceding six months. Systemically healthy individuals

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who received treatment with antibiotics/anti-inflammatory drugs in last 3 months. Patients with present and past history of any host-modulatory therapeutic agents and bone regenerative therapies. Pregnant and lactating females. Patients with bone metabolism disorders. Medically compromised patients. Smokers, tobacco chewers and alcoholics. Patients taking high-dose steroid therapy, radiation or immunosuppressive therapy. Mentally retarded and un-cooperative patients. Known history of genetic disorders. Patients not compliant to oral hygiene instructions and recall maintenance.

Estimation of Procollagen Type-1 N-Terminal Propeptide (P1NP) levels in serum.Timepoint: Baseline, 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Clinical parameters like Probing probing depth (PPD), Clinical attachment level (CAL), Sulcus bleeding index and Russellâ??s periodontal index will be assessed. Timepoint: Baseline and 6 months after periodontal therapy
