Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with acute confusional state of less than 7 days in duration. Patients fulfilling CAM criteria, where atleast 3 score was required to make a diagnosis of acute confusional state. CAM CRITERIA 1 Acute onset and fluctuating course 2 Inattention 3 Disorganised thinking 4 Altered level of consciousness.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Age less than 18 years 2.Patient with pre existing psychiatric disorder like dementia and other psychiatric disorders. 3.Head trauma
