Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Critically ill patients with age >15 years with sepsis and/or septic shock requiring invasive ventilatory support
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. lack of MV support via tracheal intubation 2. new onset of acute coronary syndrome within 1 week 3. prior heart failure 4. diagnosed case of severe valvular disease or history of valvular surgery 5. history of chronic pulmonary hypertension 6. insufficient echocardiographic image 7. patient on palliative care/ withholding of life support
