Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to multidisciplinary ICU and requiring platelet transfusion. Age more than 18 years. Expected duration of ICU stay more than 24 hours. No platelet transfusion within 24 hours prior to ICU admission.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with active bleeding or known bleeding disorder. Patients receiving out of group ABO compatible platelet transfusion. Patients receiving less than adult platelet dose. Patients with RhD negative blood groups. Patients with sepsis on admission. Patients with previous platelet transfusion within 24 hours.
