Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Consecutive mothers admitted for safe confinement and neonates delivered at CHEC after informed written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Mothers with significant prelabour rupture of membranes and preterm prelabour rupture of membranes ( as per NICE guidelines) Mother with skin lesions at chest and perineal areas Neonatal chest craniofacial and GIT malformation Neonates born at less than 28 weeks of gestation

1.To study profile of neonatal skin and gut colonization by swab culture of neonatal mucosa, skin, perineal area at birth 2.To compare profile of neonatal skin and gut microbiota between babies admitted in postnatal ward and NICU at discharge 3. Sub group stratified analysis of neonatal gut and skin colonization by mode of delivery among gestational age 28 â?? 34 weeks , 34 â?? 36 6/7 weeks and 37 weeks & above Timepoint: At birth At discharge ( within one week after birth)—
