Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.All Paediatric patient (1month -16 years) requiring admission in Paediatric ward. 2.Indication for PVC for at least 48 hours. 3.Parents willing to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Skin injury at catheter insertion sites. 2. Catheter inserted in emergency. 3. Known allergy to the chlorhexidine Or Povidone iodine. 4. Difficult insertion of catheter as in obese patient or repeat attempts. 5. Patients critically ill not expecting to survive more than a week 6. Not willing for the study.
