Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To study the effects of preoperative carbohydrate intake 2 hours before surgery on inflammatory (CRP and albumin compared)and metabolic response(less peripheral insulin resistance and serum lactates which are compared with baseline) in patients undergoing cytoreductive surgeries.Timepoint: preop CRP albumin RBS taken .2 hours before surgery either carbohydrate drink or clear water given.intraop baseline sugars lactate is compared every 4th hourly.haemodynamic parameters noted 4th hourly.12 hour post CRP albumin checked.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess overall quality of life in the postoperative periodTimepoint: Till discharge from hospital
