Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a)Diagnosed COPD, stage 1 & 2 as per GOLD criteria of spirometry (Annexure-VII), attending Out-patient & In-patient department, V.P.S.V Ayurveda College hospital, Kottakkal and OPD of Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Thrissur b)Participants fit for Snehapana, Virechana (therapeutic purgation) and RasÄ?yana c)Participants providing written consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Diagnosed cases of allergic asthma, TB, bronchiectasis, malignancy. Pregnant and lactating women. Current Smokers History of Status asthmaticus / history of recent hospitalization /severe symptoms. Participants with Peak Expiratory Flow Rate <50 %

a)Changes in Cough and Breathing difficultyTimepoint: Baseline, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
a.Changes in QOL assessed by evaluating score level of SGRQ and CAT Questionnaire. b.Changes in the blood parameters (Hb, TC, DC, ESR, AEC, IgE , LFT & RFT), BODE Index and GOLD spirometric criteria will be assessed before and after the treatment. AFB in suspected cases of TB and X-ray (chest- PA view) will be done before the treatment to exclude TB and bronchiectasisTimepoint: 0th day and 60th day
