Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients clinically found to have retraction pocket of the pars tensa with the fundus of the retraction pocket visible

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Chronic Otitis Media (Active mucosal, active squamosal type) 2.Congenital cholesteatoma 3.Revision ear surgery 4.COM with complications 5.Frank cholesteatoma 6.Patients with any chronic debilitating illness

To compare results of tympanoplasty with cortical mastoidectomy vs tympanoplasty alone in the surgical management of retraction pocket in patients diagnosed with inactive squamosal Chronic Otitis Media.Timepoint: Randomized Controlled Trial will be assessed at baseline and 12 weeks
