Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participants/dental laypeople (i.e. people without any dental background) having at least 20 natural, scorable teeth with a visible plaque accumulation represented by a continuous band of plaque (up to 1 mm) at the cervical margin on at least 30% of all facial tooth surfaces as measured by the Turesky Modification of the Quigley-Hein Plaque Index (TMQHPI) (score greater than 2 in this index),ready to give written informed consent, residing at catchment area of study setting and seeking treatment of teeth scaling (cleaning) in Department of Periodontology
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The participants who had undergone any surgery, chemical, antibiotic/dental prophylaxis on the experimental area within the 3 months prior to the study ,Subjects showing major tissue lesions and those presenting orthodontic banding or intraoral prosthesis, Pregnant, subjects with irregular brushing frequency less than 2 time/day), without complete dentition, carious teeth, Bidi or Cigarettes smokers, oral tobacco or gutkha user ,Probing depth greater than 3 mm on the facial and lingual-palatal surfaces and any physical impairment that affects oral hygiene
